Published in Hamburg from 1899 and the largest unaffiliated Jewish weekly, this paper defined itself as reflecting the interests of German Jewry as a whole. It dealt especially with the Jews' daily life and various community activities, and it included supplements for women, children, teenagers, and various communities. The Israelitisches Familienblatt was shut down in late 1938 by order of the Nazis.
